Weekly Update

 Liam loves climbing trees. He'll do it all day if you let him.

Liam wrote his own name and was very excited about it (we gave him a piece of candy to celebrate). He asked if we would take his picture too.

Tadpoles

 So this year, instead of catching tadpoles everyday I thought I'd pull out our fish tank out of the garage and we could watch them grow instead. Boy were the boys excited.

Mothers Day

 My Mom loves to see pictures of the boys. In fact, she probably checks the blog everyday. So this year for Mothers Day, I thought I would make a point to put up new pictures. Love you Mom! Thanks for always being there.

4yr Checkup

Yesterday was Liam's four year check up.  He's now 42.5 inches tall and weighs 37.5 lbs. Basically a tall lean boy.  As for some of the milestones, he may need a little work. For example drawing people with bodies, maybe if I could get him to sit still long enough to color he could draw people. As well as the cut and paste, who knows whether he could our not. However, the riding the bike, throwing and catching a ball, full sentences, and other adults understanding him he's got down.  We also went over his quirks from last time, which some he seems to be out growing, yeah good news. We did go over his weird foot thing he has when he gets tired, or at least that's what I think it is. Liam pronates for one, but to be sure that he's not flat footed or something else going on he'll be seeing another doctor next week.

Then there were the shots. Poor Liam has no fat in his leg for the MMR so they gave him an ice pack to help numb it a little before his shot. Boy did he scream. Nurse Susie was wonder and gave him an army man (6in tall) for him and Brennan for being so good, as well as an Angry Bird bandaid.  Afterwards I took him to Chick-fila for breakfast and to play on the playground.

18mth Checkup

Today I took Brennan to his 18mth appt. Yes, yes, I know his is now 19mths, but we had to take care of some insurance paperwork first before we could schedule it. Brennan is now 24lbs 7oz which is 25%, 34" long at 95% and again his head was 25%. I'm pretty sure they measured his height wrong because there is no way he only grew 1/2". He really didn't like being pinned down though, since last time we were there they put eye drops in, and that was only a couple of weeks ago.  She asked if he could say 8 words and he proceed to say these words though out the appt: fishy, moon, star, eye, baby, seat, mouth, up, ear, water, tea, thank you. She laughed and said yeah, he definitely has the 8 down. And he is also able to follow simple instructions, feeds himself, and can use a spoon. Yup, all milestones covered. Brennan also needed two shots  today. After receiving them, he told the nurse thank you. I'm sure it was a "thank you, I'm all done" and a "no more please", kind of a thank you. But it still made me and the nurse laugh. Next appt is his 2yr, wow how time has flown.

State Cup

 This weekend was State Cup for Mitchell.  We had a great time while every one was over here. Liam and I went to two different games and Mitchell's team won all three games while he was here as well as scoring a goal. Here's Liam playing with Grandma M through the sports umbrella.

 Grandma M gave the boys their Easter baskets which had socks in there. Brennan wore them all day and got angry when we took them off to put on his pj's. So we ended up having to put them on over his pj's.

Oh What a Week

Today I took my little pirate for his follow up with his pediatrician.  Brennan's eye didn't heal as quickly as she would have liked so she said it was time to go see the pediatric ophthalmologist  Plus they would be able to see the scratch better and have a better idea how to proceed.

 However, before we left, she was concerned with Liam's cough.  With good reason, he apparently has the start of pneumonia and a double ear infection. After checking Liam's ears, she double checked Brennan's who also has an ear infection.  Above is Liam getting a breathing treatment before we left the doctors office. He's smiling because he looks like an astronaut.

 Dr. Teether couldn't believe Brennan was so calm for having a scratch on his cornea and his inner eyelid.  He also said that Liam got his eye really good.  We are to continue giving Brennan the ointment inside his eyelid and the outside lid and he also gave us a new set of drops for his eye.  He doesn't feel that the scratch will cause any scaring but we need to watch him closely and if any changes we need to call right away since there are 3 different scratches where an infection can get in. He no longer need the eye patch either, yeah! small victory.

My Pirate

 Here is my happy go lucky pirate as of yesterday afternoon. Last night Liam got mad and shoved a toy missile into his eye. The on call doctor seemed to think he was ok since he wasn't crying, tearing, or rubbing his eye.  But since it's his eye, I wasn't going to hope for the best.  Even the ped thought since he wasn't crying, tearing or rubbing it was fine but would take a look for me anyways. Boy was she surprised to see that it is scratched. He now is on eye drops and has his eye patched and tomorrow morning we go back to see if it's healing correctly or whether he need to go and see the pediatric ophthalmologist

This Week

 

Brennan is such a monkey. He climbs on everything. This time it was the highchair, and right as I was taking this photo, I had told Clay we really need to put it away before Brennan gets hurt....
