Senior Design

This past Friday was Jamie's Senior Design Showcase. So of course we went. Liam said "oh, is this were everyone bring their inventions?" He had a great time looking at all the projects and even got to ride in a mars rover simulator. Clay and I also ran into old friends that we haven't seen in a long time while we were there. Afterwards we all went out for pizza. It was a good day.

Tadpoles

It's that time of year again. Tadpoles! This has to be one of the boys favorite thing to do in the summer, catching and growing frogs. Here's Brennan inspecting the bucket.
 The first caught tadpole.

 Checking out the tank.

Oh Brennan

Yesterday Brennan fell off the couch head first into the coffee table. After the bleeding slowed after 2hrs we were able to see the extent of the damage. He completely severed the tendon connecting the top lip to his gums.  Of course, true his nature he wasn't crying or upset. Totally floored the nurses and the doctor. He said this kind of injury hurts like a b and bleeds like a stink.

Since he is so little they didn't feel a need for stitches because it should heal correctly, but if he was a little older they would have because it could effect his speech and his smile. The doctor also said it would get infected because it's in the mouth and that it will turn gray, but we need to watch for any other changes, such as puss. He also needs to stick of liquids for the rest of the day and meds as needed as well as a peroxide rinse 3 times a day.

Poor kid was so upset that we had cold taco salad for dinner. He kept walking around say "Brennan want taco salad", "Mommy I get taco salad". And then this morning, the first thing out off his mouth was "food please", I don't even think he's eyes were completely open yet.

Pool and Rocket Ships

It has already started hitting 90 this year, so we've pulled out the pool. The dive missiles, aka rocket ships, that my mom bought the boys were nasty from being left outside for a year. Mommy bought new ones for this summer.

Our "Little" Friends

We went out on the kayaks on Saturday and found some friends. Here is the 6ft gator sunning himself on the bank and Mommy keeping her distance.
This was the 5ft gator. The 10.5ft one was too quick for me to get a picture

Zoo Day

This week is spring break and I knew the zoo was gonna be crowded all week, so when is was drizzling this morning I thought today would be a good day (my back up was Chick-fil-a breakfast & playground). The morning rain kept people away and the sun came out while we were there. Above the boys watching the giraffes.
Brennan was convinced that the gators behind him were dead.
Have to put this here. This was 2012 in front of the gators. Man, they have gotten big.
Since the sun came out, we went in the splash pad today. Here Brennan is watching the fish in the tank.

Sunday Funday

I'm finally starting to feel better, so it was definitely time to get out of the house.  Today we went and walked on the beach, got a slice of pizza, and then checked out the Farmers Market.
This was when the boys were still dry. They both got knocked over by a wave or two.
Writing his name in the sand.
While we were walking on the beach we were talking about shark teeth. No we didn't find any there, however when we went to the Farmers Market they had a couple for sale there. This one is Brennan's.
 Showing off their teeth.
Liam pretending to be a shark. This photo was Liam's idea, he said Grandma would like it.
Liam's one shell. We are following the Gilmore's "you can only take home one shell" rule. This was his pick.
