Off to Grandma's

For Memorial Day weekend Clayton had both Monday and Tuesday off, so we went to Bradenton. We decided to spend two days at the McCormicks and two at the Gilmores. Liam even helped me pack for his first trip to Grandma's house. He's such a big helper.

1st Doctors Visit

Today was Liam's first dr. appt. It went so well. He is .5oz off his birth weight and now is allowed to sleep longer than the four hrs they tell you at the hospital. Also he is in the 75% for his length and 50% for his weight. Dr. Lockhart couldn't believe he has already started to clutter his feedings and is sleeping four straight hrs at night. Liam's breast are still swollen from delivery and for the next couple of days we have to apply a warm compress 3 times a day. Other than that, she says he is extremely healthy.

1 Week Old

Today Liam turns one week old. I can't believe how fast this week went. He is such a good boy. Last night he slept for 5 straight hours. I was so happy. Let's just hope he'll keep it up.

Dad at Work

Dad has been hard at work with all the diapers. It's a dirty job but someones got to do it. Clay has been a big help around the house. He has been focusing on diapers and meals so that I can worry about feeding, resting, and recovering. If he wasn't making me food, I would forget to eat.

It's a Boy

On Friday night after dinner my water broke and off to the hositpal we went. Good thing our bags were packed because less that 7hrs later Liam James Gilmore was born. Our baby boy weighs a healthy 8lbs and 20.5 in long and was born at 2:20am. We are so glad that everything went ok because twice they thought I was going to have an emergency c-section. Luckily our Dr. tired everything he could to avoid that. We couldn't have been more thrilled to come home today. Jager was so happy and excited to see us and meet Liam. It's so weird to think we now have a family.

Due Date

So as you all know today is my due date. Sorry to disappoint, but there still is no baby. However, we are starting to see more and more signs that indicate that labor is near. Here is some trivia I found about due date stats..
1. Most babies are born a week either side of the estimated due date, but are more likely to come the week after the due date, rather than the week before.
2. Seven out of ten babies are born after their due date.
3. Only five percent of babies arrive on their due date.
