And We're Off

Liam started walking yesterday. After his bath he decided to let go of the coffee table and just kept going, for a little while at least. Video coming soon.

Big Helper

I have been doing a lot of yard work the last couple of weeks, which is way over due. We haven't touched the backyard in almost two years. What a mess. Therefore, after pulling weeds for the past mth, I wanted to get some mulch so I won't have to do it all over again in a week. Here is my big helper at Lowe's.

Thing of the Week

Here's Liam's fishy face.

Croup

Yesterday Liam developed an awful cough. It sounded like he was gasping for air. Last night he woke up in the middle of the night and it sounded like he was having an asthma attack. So of course we went to the pediatrician this morning. Turns out he has Croup. He'll be on a steroids for the next two days to help with the breathing and he needs to sleep with a humidifier on. Luckily last night I got his breathing on film so Dr. Lockhart could hear it so it didn't get misdiagnosed, which is common. In fact, Liam's Uncle was misdiagnosed once and ended up in the ER. When we got home, I called all the moms that were at Penelope's Birthday Party to give them a heads up, since I don't know when he caught it. Man, I'm glad I'm a stay home mom. Babies get sick a lot.

Penelope's First Birthday

We all went to Penelope's first birthday today. I can't believe she's one. That means there's only two more weeks until Liam is no longer a baby. Tear :( Liam loved getting to play with all the other kids and Copper.

Thing of Last Week

Last week I taught Liam knock knock, but it took me a while to get it on video.

Teeny Weeny Bunnies

Today Clay and I were sitting outside on our porch when the bunny we have seen a hundred times came up to the house. Out of the banana tree came running three hungry baby bunnies. They were so so cute. After watching them nurse for over a half an hour I was tempted to get my camera. This is what I got.

Ding Dong the Bees are Gone

Last week after Jager and I both got attacked by a hive of bees, we decided it was time to call someone to have them removed. We called some people Friday and they said the would get back to us about appt times, but they didn't. I was shocked when the bee guy showed up at the house today. He said he tried calling before he came over but only reached my voicemail, but he was already in the area (he couldn't reach me since Liam threw my cell phone into the pool this afternoon). He said by looking at the hive they have been there over a year and that's why they have gotten so aggressive. We didn't know they were there until the cold snap killed the tree. They made their nest in a old bird house in the backyard so removal was fairly easy (if you have the right gear).

Spaghetti Night

Last night I made chicken parm with pasta for dinner. Spaghetti and tired babies don't mix well. I was cracking up so much that I was crying. I originally was trying to film how Liam was putting his head in the bowl to eat the pasta like Jager does but this is what I got instead.

Cool Dude

Since we went to Bradenton for Easter, the car was covered in lovebugs. So while I was washing the car, Liam and Jager were playing in the pool in the front yard. Jager hasn't had to share the pool before. I don't think he liked that.

11mths

Liam is now 11mths. At the end of last week he started to let go and would stand by himself, sometimes he would even clap because he was so excited and proud of himself. So this weekend we were shocked that he took his first steps, which was great since both sets of grandparents were there.
Liam is also a big copy cat. Grandma McCormick and Aunt Shannon are teaching him all kinda of new tricks. He also loves to give big open mouth kisses. Liam's favorite word right now is hi, but he can also say Dadda, Mamma, bye, done, daw (dog), baba (bottle) and pa-tee (pretty). Liam won't touch something if you tell him not to, but he will throw a fit.
He is a huge breakfast eater and then he snacks the rest of the day. His favorites are blueberries, bananas, avocado, cheese, and pizza. If he has the choice between juice and water he will almost always choose the water. When he feels its time for a snack he will crawl over to the diaper bag and pull out any goodies I might have packed for later. He is so much fun, and I'm loving every minute of it. I just wish it could go by slower.
