Playing at the Park

It was cooler today than it has been, so we went to the park across the street. Here's Liam and Daddy taking a break from running around.Climbing the kids rock wall.
It's too hot Mommy. Can I have my water please?

Monkeys

I took Liam to the zoo yesterday and nobody was there, which was awesome. So I let Liam walk around at his own pace. He loves the monkeys. They were all amped up yesterday while he was watching them at the zoo. It wasn't until I got home and watched the videos that I realized Liam was eating french fries.

Rocks

Liam came running up to me today saying rock, rock, rock. I extended my hand out and ask Liam to give mommy the rock. I thought he was going to hand me a pebble from outside. They always get stuck in Clay's shoe and then dragged into the house. Instead he handed me a booger. Oh boys. You got to love them. Question is, was it his or did he find it?

Now Hiring?

Beef O' Bradys needs nurses? I was cracking up when I saw this sign in front of Beef O' Bradys. I didn't think their food was that bad.

First the Crib, Now the High Chair

Liam is a little climber just like his mommy was. First it was the crib, now it's the high chair. What will it be next? Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep a toddler in their bed for naps? He does great with bedtime, but it is a constant struggle with his naps.

15mth Checkup

Last weekend I had to buy Liam all new clothes. He out grew everything. I had to laugh when Dr. Lockhart told me that Liam was now the average size of a 21mths old. He's currently the 99% for his height, but still the 30% for his weight. Tall and skinny just like his Daddy.

Liam also meet all of his milestones which are 5 words other than mommy and daddy, squatting and recovery, climbing, and throwing overhand. As the nurse was going over the milestones, Liam climbed up the window ledge so that he could get a better look outside and started waving saying "hi car", "bye car", "bird", "water","oh baby, hi baby". Five words, yeah we got that.

We discussed Liam getting the chicken poxs, climbing out of the crib, and starting whole milk this past week. Dr. Lockhart wanted to make sure we were brushing his teeth everyday. I asked if she could also looked at his molars. They look really really gross. They have split the gum and the capillaries in his mouth, so there is blood dripping in the back of his mouth. He looks like a vampire who is getting his fangs in. Dr. Lockhart said that its not very common, has seen it once or twice, but is still in the normal range. Once the tooth pushes up the skin flaps will heal around the molar and the capillaries will recede back into the gums.

Liam also got two shoots. I was very surprised that he screamed. The last two visits he hasn't made a peep. The nurse gave him a sticker, which he loved, and a lollipop. At first he didn't know what to do with the lollipop but once we put it in his mouth, he was so happy. I wanted to take a pic but he finished it before we even made it home. Bummer.

Here Fishy Fishy

Today Kayla and I took the babies to the zoo to go swimming. Liam has been cutting his top two molars this past week, and I'm running out of things that are keeping him happy. At the zoo, there is a kiddie pool with a fish tank in the water. Liam and Penelope were so excited to see the fishes as you can tell from them being glued to the tank.

Picnic Lunch

It was so nice out on Saturday that we decided to get some Publix subs and go have a picnic lunch at the pond. We couldn't believe that Liam stayed on the blanket while we ate our lunch as a family. When we finished, we told him that he could go feed the ducks. He wasn't as interested in feeding them as he was in chasing them.

Feeding the Ducks

Today I took Liam to the park to feed the birds (turtles & fishes). Since we have never gone before, I was really hoping he was going to like it. Luckily the white geese where on the other side of the pond.

It took Liam awhile to realize the bread was for the birds and not just for him to sit around and eat. He loved throwing it too, it just didn't go very far.

After the bread ran out, Liam ran around chasing all the birds. He thought it was funny that they kept flying away.

Bye Bye Crib

While we went to Mass, Liam started to learn how to hook his leg over the top of the pack n' play. Now that we are home he is trying to escape out of his crib. Since most children figure out how to get out around two, Clay and I were really surprise. At least at the age of two, Liam would have the arm strength to get down without getting hurt. Therefore, Clay and I converted his crib into a day bed, put up all his toys, and baby proofed his room. Last night was his first night and he did great. He was a little upset that we took apart his crib, but I think he likes getting out of the crib on his own even more. This morning I went in to get him up and he was behind the rocking chair (his favorite hideout). Here's hoping his nap goes just as well.

Mr. and Mrs. Brooks

This past week we flew to Boston for my best friend's wedding. We had such a blast visiting with all our family and friends. The weather was beautiful, I don't think it got above 75 while we were there. Perfect for an outdoor wedding. Here are some pics of our trip.
