Thing of the Week

Liam started waving this week. It took me three days to get it on video.

Cheese Thief

Yesterday I was trying to make Clay's lunch before he got home. So I pulled Liam and some of his toys into the kitchen so I could keep an eye on him. I took out the cheese but left the door open to the fridge since I was only taking out a piece and then putting it back. When I turned around Liam was pulling himself up into the fridge trying to open the cheese drawer to get a cheese stick. Man he's getting quick.

50th Birthday

On Friday we threw a surprise birthday party for my mom, and boy was she surprised. Both of her sisters came down and we had the neighbors come over for cake and pizza. She thought that that was her surprise, but it wasn't. We had her and Grandma pack an over night back on Sat. morning and hit the road. We took them to Cheesecake Factory for lunch then our final destination was Hard Rock Casino. We all had a blast. I had a great night. I didn't expect to win anything but I won one jackpot of $90 and another of $175. Woohoo!

9mth Checkup

Liam had his 9mth checkup yesterday. Dr. Lockhart said he looked great. But we still need to keep an eye on him just in case a rash develops from the tick. She said in all likely hood he is fine, but to hold onto the tick for another mth just in case. He now weighs 19lbs and 12oz and is 29in long. He in the bottom 30% for his weight, 80% for his height, but the bottom 10% for his head. He currently has a head cold and he is also getting two more top teeth. Dr Lockhart said he can now eat anything but shellfish, nuts, and honey. She also said that his rash from cinnamon is a reaction to the oil and not a food allergy.
He is also starting to cruise furniture. Can you believe it? He can't sit on his own but yet he is getting closer to walking every day. Today we also shipped another package to Uncle Jimmy. Here's Liam helping me take it to the post office.

Ash Wednesday

Today is Ash Wednesday, so Liam and I got up and headed out to 8am Mass. He was horrible today. I think he knew since Daddy wasn't there that he could act up more. He was throwing his toys, screaming, and flailing himself around when I held him. He even wiped off all his ashes before Mass was over on my shirt. Luckily I was wearing black. I wish I had a pic of him and his ashes because he just looked too darn cute. Oh well, maybe next year.
Today is also Great Grandma Bristol and Grandma McCormick's Birthdays. Happy Birthday guys! Shannon and I are taking them out for a nice dinner on Saturday night. Can't wait to see you this weekend, but not looking forward to the drive.

Brewing

This weekend it was finally warm enough that Clay could brew. So that is what he did. We now have 5 gallons of Scottish Ale fermenting in the mini fridge. In about three weeks he will transfer it into a keg, which is what I got him for his birthday last year. I'm so glad I was out of the house when he was brewing. That has to be the worse smell ever. I thought it was because I was pregnant the last couple of times, but no, it just reeks.

Elly's Birthday

Today Liam went to his first Birthday Party. Elly turned one at the end of January. She is a little girl that we know from church and play group. Liam had so much fun. He refused to take his nap so that he could play with toys, eat cupcakes, and open Elly's presents. I can't believe how fast they grow. Liam will soon be 10mths and not long after that we will be planning his first birthday.

This One's for Mitchell

Check him out. Liam is rocking a Queen tee that Kayla and I found at Target for a $1.50. The shorts came from Aunt Norm, and when Daddy was getting ready this morning we spiked his hair (not that it needed much help). Mitchell is a huge classic rock fan. So we thought he would get a kick out of this.

Super Bowl Party

Last night we went over to Kohl and Crystal's for their super bowl party. Poor Liam didn't even make it to the kick off. We had a great time hanging out with them. There was so much food also. I'm going to have to work out each between the picnic and the super bowl this weekend. Here are the cupcakes that Linda made. I ate one of the s's and then wrote Giants, which made everyone laugh and get really creative with the remaining letters.

Church Picnic

On Sat. we had a church picnic. We had a lot of fun just hanging out and eating. Liam got to play with all his buddies. Here he is playing with Daddy's new kick ball. All three of us lathered up with sunscreen, but Liam is the only one who didn't get burnt (while using baby spf 70 I might add). I guess he takes after Grandma Gil that way.

Tick Bite

Last night I was giving Liam his bath and he fell trying to stand up in the tub. So I quickly scooped him up and tried to calm him down and get him dressed. I notice he had what I thought was part of a leftover blueberry from dinner but it was stuck. When I took a closer look it was a deer tick. Crap. As some of you know, Clay and I have a set of friends that have Lyme disease. So I called Clay and told him what was going on and then we hung up and he called the on call dr. and I called my mom. Mom said to use a match to stun the tick so he releases, which is what I remember doing being a kid. However, that isn't what you're supposed to do. By startling it with the heat the tick may vomit its stomach content which may contain Lyme. You should take a piece of string instead and wrap it around the site not the tick and slowly pinch it off, making sure not to squish the body. We also place the tick in a baggie in case it needs to get tested. It wasn't embedded yet so it must have crawled on him that morning when we went outside to hang the diapers on the line.

Curtains

Since I love, love, love Liam's crib bumper pad fabric but was afraid of SIDS, I took it apart and attached the fabric to his curtains. Everything that could go wrong did, including breaking the needle. I guess that's why I haven't sewn in a long time. Either that or the fact that I didn't have a sewing machine.

They are almost done. I'll post the pics when I'm done.

Thing of the Week

Here's Liam's new thing for the week. It has been entertaining him quite nicely, especially when he was running a fever last week.

New Cloths

Liam got new cloths this weekend. He got some cute outfits for Christmas but now the weather is getting a little warmer, and with that comes new cloths. He is currently in 9mths, so I bought 12mths so that he can grow into them.
