Ultra-sound #3

Today I had another ultra-sound to see if my placenta has moved, and it has. It's still low lying but not placenta previa so I don't have to have a c-section. The tech notice that the baby had a full set of hair and when she measured it it was over a cm long. The tech and the trainee both thought it would be funny to see in 3rd, so I got a 3rd ultra-sound and didn't have to pay for it. When I left I only had the two black and white photos printed out. I felt so bad for Clay because he had to miss the appt due to a meeting. I knew he would be mad that he didn't see the 3d ultra-sound. Turns out the tech had put the 3d images on the cd for Clay. Boy was he excited. More images here.

Baby Betting Game

At the baby shower everyone started placing bets on when and what I was having. Thought it would be fun to track. To make it more interesting, I'm willing to throw in a $25 gift card to a restaurant of the winners choice. Who ever guess the correct day will win. If no one guesses correctly the person with the most items correct will win. Changes can be made up until March 31st. Good Luck!

Hospital Tour

Last night we took a tour of Holmes Regional Medical Center. The whole mother/baby wing has just been redone in the past year. I really liked all the different types of granite that they used. All the rooms are private and have views of the river as well as WiFi which Clay is really excited about. They also have a level II NICU just in case. The entrance to the birthing suites is separate from the hospital making it more private and safer for moms and babies. More pics can be found here. Over all I was glad we went even though I still had a hard time paying attention. I couldn't stop thinking of my grandma and the last time I was at a hospital. At least Clay gather most of the important info that we needed to know.

Surprise!

So this weekend my family threw a surprise shower for me. Everyone was in on it, including Clay. I was supposed to meet mom at 2:30 to go over to Ruth Ann's to pick through her old baby stuff. So Shannon called to warn me that mom was in one of her moods and to not come over early because I had mentioned I was getting bored and I was possibly coming over earlier. So I didn't go and I'm glad I didn't ruin it. I was so excited to see friends and family from out of town and ones that were local. I had a great time playing games and eating great food. Thanks everyone for such a great day. Mom and I just went to Ruth Ann's on sunday instead. (pics link on right)

30 week checkup

Today I went in for my 30 week checkup. The lady that had schedule the appt forgot to enter it into the computer so I had to sit there for an extra 20 min. My weight is 175 and my bp is 122/80. Also I got the results for my glucose test. Dr Gomez said that under each category I was perfect, perfect, and perfect. 140 or below is considered to be non gestational diabetic and I was at 68. He said he wished he had more patients like me. You know, ones that exercise and stay in the weight requirements that way there's less complications. Also next friday I will have my next ultrasound to see if the placenta has moved. Dr Gomez doesn't seem that worried but they are still going to check to make sure its not going to be a problem for delivery.

Baby Gift

We received our first baby gift in the mail today. It came from Clay's Uncle Dan and Aunt Cindy. It's so cute. I was surprised to find out that it doesn't scare Jager. Any thing that makes noise and moves scares him. He's such a baby. He does however think the stuffed fishes are dog toys. Good thing they are out of reach.

Nursery

So here is the nursery so far. It still needs a little work, but its getting closer. This weekend we are going to repaint the rocker glider and my mom is going to recover the cushions. I still want a rug, which I found one I like at target so its now on my registery. Three of the walls are a lighter shade of green than the wall that the crib is on. As for the cabinets we bought them, made them, and mounted them to the wall for extra storage. The art orginally had silver frames which we repainted to work better in the space.

28 week checkup

Today was my 28th week check-up and glucose tolerance test. Everyone said the glucose test was the really gross but it really wasn't that bad. They have changed the liquid into something more like orange gatorade rather than the original orange syrup they use to give. As for the check-up, the heart rate is go and so is baby gil's movement, especially after all that sugar. I was also asked a series of questions to get me thinking about the birth. Some where no brainers and others such as have we picked out a pediatrician yet, we'll have to start thinking about. After the doc appt they sent me across the hall to get some lab work done. The tech made me sit there for like 30min afterwards because she thought I was going to pass out. I guess I got as white as a ghost. She even commented on possibly having to call Clay to come pick me up.

7mths

Today marks 7 mths as well as the beginning of the last trimester. Anybody as freaked out as I am? Every where I go everyone ask me the same questions. When are you do?, What are you having?, and Do you have any names picked out? Its so bad that even Clay is starting to get annoyed. It would be one thing if we went and got milk and one person asked us, its madness when we get stopped three to four times before we even get the chance to check-out. Plus they all want to give advice and stories of their kids...etc,etc,etc. Everyone that see me also comments on how small I am for x amount of mths. Your so little, that's a tiny baby, are you eating enough, meanwhile I feel like I'm a hippo. If I hear one more person comment on how small I am I gonna kill them.
