Today was Brennan's 4mth checkup. He now weighs 15lbs 10.5oz, which makes him in the 75% for his weight. He is also 26.5 in long (97th) and he's in the 50th for his head. Dr. Altenburg also listened to his heart for a long time. She doesn't seem to think that Brennan has a heart mummer anymore but wants to recheck again at 6mths. If she hears one then, she plans on having an ultrasound done to double check as an extra precaution. She did notice however that Brennan is tongued tied. She doesn't seem to think that it will effect him much since he obviously doesn't have any trouble eating. The real test will be when he starts to talk, and whether or not it will effect his speech.
We also talked about him being off his acid reflux meds, which I haven't given to him since Christmas and he's doing great, as well as me starting him on rice cereal. He is meeting all his milestones of rolling, cooing, laughing, and following objects and sound. I told her that he started rolling two days after his last appt, which she thought was crazy. But after examining him she could see why. Brennan grab onto her otoscope and wouldn't let go. She said she has never had a 4mth grab onto it, never mind not letting go. Brennan did have fluid in his ear but it wasn't an infection yet, so I opted not to give him antibiotics. However, if his symptoms change in the next couple of days, I just have to call the office and they'll call in scprit for me.
