2mth Checkup

This morning Liam and I went to see his doctor. He now weighs 10lbs 9oz and is 24in long. He no longer fits into any of his new born clothes and has out grown most of his 3mth outfits. As you can see from the photo, Liam had two shots today as well as an oral vaccine. Poor kid. His next appointment isn't until Sept. Dr Lockhart said that at his next appointment we will talk about starting Liam on solids.

Busy Weekend

Today was a very busy day. Because we leave tomorrow to Bradenton, I had lots of things to do. This weekend Liam is going to be baptized in the church that we got married in. Not only that Jimmy is coming home on leave from Hawaii for the big day. I'm so excited that Jimmy gets to see Liam before he is deployed to Iraq is August. But this trip is bitter sweet since this will be my last visit with my brother before he leaves. We would love to fly out to Hawaii before he leaves, unfortunately flying a family of three out there is super expense.

Chicken alla Bebe

What's for dinner? Liam! LOL. Today is officially Clay's first Father's day. Liam and I got him a 42qt pot for making his home brews. When he made his beer in the past he was borrowing a pot from Mike and it kept boiling over. Now he won't have that problem. Yeah, no more mess.

Off to Grandma's

For Memorial Day weekend Clayton had both Monday and Tuesday off, so we went to Bradenton. We decided to spend two days at the McCormicks and two at the Gilmores. Liam even helped me pack for his first trip to Grandma's house. He's such a big helper.

1st Doctors Visit

Today was Liam's first dr. appt. It went so well. He is .5oz off his birth weight and now is allowed to sleep longer than the four hrs they tell you at the hospital. Also he is in the 75% for his length and 50% for his weight. Dr. Lockhart couldn't believe he has already started to clutter his feedings and is sleeping four straight hrs at night. Liam's breast are still swollen from delivery and for the next couple of days we have to apply a warm compress 3 times a day. Other than that, she says he is extremely healthy.

1 Week Old

Today Liam turns one week old. I can't believe how fast this week went. He is such a good boy. Last night he slept for 5 straight hours. I was so happy. Let's just hope he'll keep it up.

Dad at Work

Dad has been hard at work with all the diapers. It's a dirty job but someones got to do it. Clay has been a big help around the house. He has been focusing on diapers and meals so that I can worry about feeding, resting, and recovering. If he wasn't making me food, I would forget to eat.

It's a Boy

On Friday night after dinner my water broke and off to the hositpal we went. Good thing our bags were packed because less that 7hrs later Liam James Gilmore was born. Our baby boy weighs a healthy 8lbs and 20.5 in long and was born at 2:20am. We are so glad that everything went ok because twice they thought I was going to have an emergency c-section. Luckily our Dr. tired everything he could to avoid that. We couldn't have been more thrilled to come home today. Jager was so happy and excited to see us and meet Liam. It's so weird to think we now have a family.

Due Date

So as you all know today is my due date. Sorry to disappoint, but there still is no baby. However, we are starting to see more and more signs that indicate that labor is near. Here is some trivia I found about due date stats..
1. Most babies are born a week either side of the estimated due date, but are more likely to come the week after the due date, rather than the week before.
2. Seven out of ten babies are born after their due date.
3. Only five percent of babies arrive on their due date.

39 week checkup

Today was my 39th week checkup. When I first got to the office my blood pressure was very high, so Dr Zylman said that after my examine that if its still that high, I would need to go to the hospital. We then talked about the 3 separate rounds of contractions that I have been having, so she was very curious of how far along I was. As she went to check baby gil's heart beat I had another contraction. She laughed and told me that she believed me and that I didn't need to show her. She couldn't believe how long it was. "No wonder why you're so tired." But when she did the examine I was still only 1.5cm and 50%. She then got this crazy look in her eyes and decided to strip my membranes. She proceeded to tell me that she wouldn't be surprise if I were to go into labor tonight now. Afterwards they rechecked my bp and it was still high but I didn't need to go to the hospital but if I have any symptoms of high bp I need to go in right away. My next appt is Monday, and if I still haven't had the baby they will schedule my induction then.
